Small Maple Gate-leg Table, probably Massachusetts, c. 1730-50, the oval drop-leaf top above a straight skirt with drawer joining block-, vase-, and ring-turned legs and stretchers, (imperfections), ht. 27, wd. 39 1/2, dp. 34 1/2 in. Provenance: Property Approved for Deaccession by the Board of Trustees of Historic Deerfield, Inc. Proceeds to the benefit the Museum Collections Fund. Estimate $800-1,200 hinges have moved at least twice and are old but not original, stains to top, top boards reglued (part of one board detached but present). drawer bottom and dovetails renailed, surface an old dry dark brown stain. Top and feet appear original. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
