U. S. Model 1832 Foot Artillery Sword, c. 1841, brass hilt with eagles on the pommel and scaled grip, marked on the ricasso "N.P. AMES/SPRINGFIELD" and "UNITED/STATES/1841/W.S.," with a leather scabbard with brass throat and drag, blade lg. 19 1/4, overall lg. 25 1/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison.
