Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528) Saint Sebastian Bound to the Column, 1498-99 (Meder/Hollstein, 61 ii/ii). Monogrammed within the plate. Engraving on paper, image/sheet size 4 3/16 x 2 7/8 in. (10.5 x 7.2 cm), framed. Condition: Trimmed to the borderline, staining l.r. and u.l., floated within the mat, not examined out of frame. Estimate $800-1,200 The paper is an early- to mid-16th century sheet, and a nice impression. The four corners are hinged to the backing mat so the verso cannot be examined.
