Art Nouveau Sculpture After Julian Causse (French, 1869-1914), likely France, late 19th century, spelter, gilded nymph on a dark green finish shell with aquatic plants, marked "J. Causse" on shell, ht. 12, wd. 10 in. Note: Julian Causse was born at Bourges, studied in Paris under Falguiére and exhibited at The Salon des Artists Francais in the 1890s, obtaining honorable mentions in 1892 and 1900 and a third class medal in 1893. He also took part in the exposition Universelle of 1900 and specialized in small figures. Estimate $300-500 Significant gilt loss.
