Four Framed Heraldic Watercolors: Arms of General Sir John St. George, Arms of Garth of Morden in Surrey, and Two Unidentified Unsigned, Morden ascribed to Lincoln's Inn Heraldic Office, c. 1880, on a card from Heirloom & Howard Ltd., Bath, affixed to the frame backing; St. George inscribed on the reverse by Albert W. Woods (see below) dated October 1889. Watercolor, gouache, and ink (some with gold highlights) on paper, sight sizes to 11 3/16 x 9 1/2 in. (28.5 x 24.3 cm). Condition: Some with minor foxing, not examined out of frames. N.B. St. George is presented in a double-sided frame, so that the inscription from Albert W. Woods on the reverse is visible. The inscription confirms that the arms were presented to General Sir John St. George when we became a Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, recorded to him in the College of Arms. Estimate $400-600 Largest frame measures 14 x 12 1/2 x 1 inches. It appears that there is dirt on the underside of the glass, which may throw shadows on the works making them appear to be spotted. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. Any condition statement given, as a courtesy to a client, is only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
