Four Encaustic Decorated Black Basalt Items, England, 19th century, each with iron red and black, including a canopic jar cover, ht. 4; and three vases with white, each with figures: one with upturned handles to the shoulder, ht. 8 5/8, one with a side handle, ht. 9 3/8, and an impressed Wedgwood example with upturned handles mid-body, ht. 8 1/2 in. Estimate $700-900 Jar cover: Numerous slight rim nicks. Vase w/handles to shoulder: In very good condition throughout. Vase w/side handle: Plinth with spurious Wedgwood mark and edge chips. Vase with mid body upturned handles: One handle broken off and simply reglued. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
