Five Black Basalt Items, England, 18th and 19th century, a marked Wedgwood & Bentley cup with classical medallion, ht. 4 7/8; three marked" Wedgwood": an Egyptian candleholder, ht. 4 3/4, an Egyptian tripod-base urn, ht. 6 1/4, and a dolphin tripod base incense bowl, ht. 4; and an unmarked sphinx tripod-base bowl, ht. 7 1/4 in. Estimate $400-600 W & B cup: probably had a cover; slight rim chip repair; nicks along edges of plinth. Candleholder: Missing nozzle. Egyptian urn: Missing cover; slight rim chip. Dolphin bowl: Missing cover; sizable rim hairline. Sphinx bowl: Missing cover; several rim hairlines; one wing poorly repaired; top of each sphinx head altered.
