Agate Vase and Cover, England, c. 1780, traces of gilding to white terra-cotta scrolled handles terminating at masks, portrait and floret medallions within foliate festoons, set atop a square black basalt plinth with impressed Wedgwood & Bentley mark, ht. 8 1/4 in. Estimate $300-500 The base is possibly a marriage. Vases of this type with the looped medallion are more typically Neale. Composition cover; restored through at socle.
