Johannes Kip (Dutch, 1653-1722) Four Hand-colored Engravings of English Country Houses: Beachborough, the Seat of William Brockman; Cleve Hall, the Seat of William Player, Esq.; Preston Hall in Aylsford, the Seat of Sir Thomas Colepeper; and Alveston, the Seat of Edward Hill Esq. Signed and identified in the plates, plate sizes to approximately 13 5/8 x 16 1/2 in. (34.7 x 42.0 cm), framed. Condition: All with vertical central creases and rippling, not examined out of frames. N.B. Kip was a Dutch draftsman and engraver active in Great Britain. Preston Hall and Beachborough bear notations that they were published in John Harris, The History of Kent, Vol I, p. 32 and p. 216, respectively. The other two prints may possibly come from Britannia illustrata, although there is no visible notation on the works documenting that link.
