Red-painted Maple Chest over Two Drawers, possibly Connecticut, 18th century, the molded hinged top above two thumb-molded drawers and two working drawers, all on a dovetailed cutout bracket base, replaced brasses, old surface, (patch to drawer facing), ht. 40, wd. 36, dp. 18 in. Note: Pencil inscription on side of drawer reads, "Grandmother Died on March 24, 1837. Age 89 years. Bought at Town Auction May 6, 1919."
