Pair of Red-painted Turned Side Chairs, New England, last half 18th century, the yoked crest rails above vasiform splats, rush seats, and vase and ring turnings throughout, with bulbous turned front stretchers, ht. 39 1/2, seat ht. 16 1/4 in. Estimate $400-600 The chairs are in good structural condition. They have full height. There is a loss on the side of one pad which is not noticeable as you look at the chair on the floor. The red paint is later. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
