Chippendale Cherry Desk Bookcase, New London County, Connecticut, c. 1750-60, the upper section with molded cornice and two tombstone-paneled doors opening to compartments, set into lower section with slant-lid opening to an interior of valanced compartments and concave and convex blocked drawers, the center section pulls out to reveal two hidden drawers, above a case of cockbeaded drawers on ogee bracket feet, ht. 75, wd. 38, dp. 20 in. Estimate $1,200-1,800 repairs to feet, loss to one rear bracket, shrinkage and cracks to backboards, upper section hinges (replaced set) applied to outside of doors, but no evidence of hinges inside.
