Chippendale Carved Mahogany Armchair, Massachusetts, c. 1770-80, the shaped scrolling crest rail with raised edge centering leafage, repeating on the terminals, above the pierced splat with carved tassels, flanked by scrolling arms on serpentine supports, with slip seat on beaded square legs, old surface, (imperfections), ht. 36 3/4, seat ht. 17 in. Estimate $800-1,200 small patch to stile and crestrail at joint, arm supports probably reattached, front legs with repairs. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
