Chippendale Carved Mahogany Block-front Chest of Drawers, probably Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1760-80, the molded top on a cockbeaded case of four drawers on conformingly shaped ogee bracket feet, old replaced brasses, (restoration), refinished, ht. 32, case wd. 34 3/4, dp. 23 in. Estimate $4,000-6,000 The feet are pieced 3 inches each. The drawerfronts have been redrilled for the old replacement brasses, but the old holes are hidden under the brass, so they are not evident.
