American, possibly Boston, early 19th century. A Federal period wing chair having an arched back and shaped serpentine wings over outscrolled arms enclosing the removable seat cushion and raised on front turned legs. Chair is covered in gold floral damask style upholstery. Approximate height 43", width 34" (wing to wing), seat depth 19", seat height 14.5". Provenance: Property from the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs & Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
