Radcliffe Bailey (American (Georgia), b. 1968). "Heard duh An-gels" - 1995, mixed media with photograph on paper, apparently unsigned. Mixed media painting centered by an antique black and white portrait photograph of an African American child in white christening gown, the oval photograph framed by a painted floral garland and red ribbon and fields of color in brown, peach, and mint green, also collaged paper hearts, inscribed over the top with black lettering "One morn-in soon - one morn" and "all heard duh" and "head dug an----gels" along with musical notes. Label to verso of work likely from an Art Papers Art Auction citing the artist as donor. Framed approximately 36.75" x 35.25", sheet size approximately 27.25" x 22.25". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Helen Ballard, Atlanta, Georgia.
