Lumiere, Louis (1864-1948) Typed Letter Signed, 8 February 1940. One page on BFK Rives watermarked paper, Villa "Lumen" letterhead to Harold Smith Jr., Paris, responding to his request for Lumiere to author an article for the journal Le Thou-Bahut stating that because of the demands on his laboratory responsibilities, he is unable to submit an article to the publication, (folds, beginning to separate near edges), 10 5/8 x 8 1/4 in.
