Dutch School, 17th Century Style Two Tavern Scenes with Men Drinking at Tables: Short Measure and Two Men with Pipes. Both unsigned on the recto, Two Men inscribed "Jan Steen" and bearing the remnant of a red wax seal on the reverse, and with a label from Costa Ribeiro & Cia, Rio de Janeiro, on the back of the frame; Short Measure titled in English on the reverse and bearing an unknown painted coat of arms and Asian-inspired seal or collector's mark also on the reverse. Both oil on panel, sizes approximately 10 x 8 in., framed. Condition: Both with craquelure, retouch, Short Measure with varnish discoloration and a vertical line of craquelure to l.l. quadrant.
