Rare 14kt Gold Hunter Case Presentation Watch, presented by Queen Marie of Romania, 1926, case front bears the enameled royal insignia of the queen, gilt dial with applied arabic numeral indices, sunk seconds, cuvette engraved "Presented by her Majesty Queen Marie of Romania to Capt. Bruce Stout Nov. 19 1926," stem-wind, stem-set damascened Swiss movement marked "Orator Watch Co.," with original velvet-lined insignia-decorated case, dia. 50 mm, 79g. Note: Bruce Stout was the chief of police of the central railroad of New Jersey and described his assignment of escorting the Queen and her two children, the Princess Ileana and Prince Nicholas, as "one of the most difficult he ever undertook," according to a newspaper clipping that accompanies the watch. Estimate $1,000-1,500 lacking crystal, wining setting and ticking but does not stay running. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
