Splashed Brown-glazed Stoneware Jarlet and Cover, China, possibly Song dynasty, slightly compressed globular form, with short straight mouth rim and foot, the cover with a concave center decorated with a molded vine tip form finial, the dark glaze with iron brown spotty splashes, ht. 3 3/4 in. Provenance: Mary Andrews Wolff Collection; then by descent to the present owner. Estimate $800-1,200 repair to a side with some cracking in progress.
