Gilt-bronze Figure of Thousand-armed Avalokitesvara, Sino-Tibet, with primary hands together at the chest and multiple arms radiating in the back, standing on lotus base mounted on a rectangular pedestal, flanked with a two-part aureole, the three-faced head crowned with a three-tiered headdress with seven heads and a Buddha head on top, overall ht. to 34 in. Provenance: A private collection acquired some time ago from several New England galleries. Estimate $5,000-7,000 gilt losses, surface wear and dirt, minor casting flaws, otherwise in good condition without apparent damages.
