Embroidered Textile Hanging, China, Qing dynasty, probably a fragment from an informal court robe, embroidered with a front-facing dragon and two side-facing dragons in couched gold thread, surrounded by ruyi-headed clouds, bats, and Daoist emblems, all above a lishui stripe border and crashing waves, framed by a complimentary border woven with phoenix roundels, 4 ft. 5 in. x 3 ft. Estimate $300-350 Some fading, areas of wear to colored threads, particularly to stripes. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
