Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669) The Return of the Prodigal Son, 1636, a 19th century impression (Bartsch/Hollstein, 91 i/i). Signed and dated within the plate. Etching on wove paper, plate size 6 1/4 x 5 1/4 in. (15.8 x 13.3 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins approximately 1/8 in., pencil annotations to verso. Estimate $800-1,200 Mat dimensions: 11 x 9 7/8 in. Two linen tape hinges, one to each upper corner affixed to the verso, inscription in pencil on the verso reads "B91" in the l.l. and indistinctly "F647/..." in the l.r.
