Provenance: William Doyle Galleries, American Paintings, October 21, 1987, Lot 133; private collection, Montecito, California; private New England collection. Estimate $3,000-5,000 Framed dimensions: 18 1/4 x 21 in. Scattered retouch, primarily to sky, minor surface grime. The canvas has a very rough weave, the texture of which can be seen throughout the surface and presents some strong horizontal lines. The paper coating on the the reverse of the artist's board is stained. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
