John Appleton Brown (American, 1844-1902) Antique Home in Newly Fallen Snow Signed "J. Appleton Brown" l.l. Pastel and charcoal on tan paper, sight size 17 1/2 x 21 1/2 in. (44.5 x 54.5 cm), framed (in a liner). Condition: Possible toning, not examined out of frame. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Framed dimensions are 20 x 24 inches. The frame was not opened during cataloging, although we cut the backing paper to see if there was any information to be seen. The materials look period, with hand-forged nails, so we did not venture any further due to the fragile nature of pastel. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
