Blue and White Dragon Jar, Korea, 19th century, bulbous form with high neck, decorated with a meander-pattern band below a double ring, the body decorated with a double dragon design above a ring around a slightly raised foot, ht. 16 1/2 in. Provenance: Acquired in Korea during the early 1960s by the late Mrs. Poul Stengaard Hansen. Hansen worked from 1963 to 1965 as the Chief of Mission at the National Medical Center in Korea; inherited by the present owner. Estimate $2,000-3,000 slightly crooked, minor cracks to mouth rim, stained crackles to some areas. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
