Bronze Statue of Medicine Buddha, China, possibly Ming dynasty, seated in dhyanasana pose, his right hand in varadamudra, holding a myrobalan fruit with his thumb and middle fingers, his left hand in dhyanamudra, gilt lacquered hair, chased details to his robe, with conforming wood lotus stand, ht. 12 1/4, wd. 9 1/4 in. Estimate $700-900 cracking and losses to lacquered hair, numerous casting flaws. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
