Early Black-painted Slant-lid Desk

Early Black-painted Slant-lid Desk, possibly Massachusetts, c. 1730-50, the lid opens to a compartmented and multi-drawer interior with slide-top well, above a case of three thumb-molded drawers and applied molding below, on ball feet, ht. 41 3/4, wd. 34, dp. 17 1/2 in. Provenance: Lillian Cogan, 1979. Estimate $3,000-5,000 strip patched in area where lid meets writing surface. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
