Liverpool Tin-glazed Earthenware Puzzle Jug and Two Bin Labels, 18th century, the puzzle jug with heart piercings and inscription reading "Here Gentlemen Come try your skill/I'le hold a wager if you will/That you don't drink this Liquor all/Without your spill or Let some fall," the bin labels inscribed "PORT" and "BURGUNDY," ht. to 6 1/2 in. Estimate $400-600 Puzzle jug: One spout has been repaired; scattered spots of glaze loss on the top, base, and inside base. Bin labels: Port label has a small chip at lower right corner.
