Nantucket Basket Purse, Jose Formoso Reyes, Nantucket, Massachusetts, c. 1940s, the lid with relief carved gull, above oval swing handle, and signed on the underside of the base "Made in Nantucket" in the way that Reyes inscribed his earliest baskets, ht. not including handle 6 1/2 in.
