Queen Anne High Chest, New England, c. 1730-50, the top section with molded cornice and double arch-molded case with two short drawers and three long drawers, set into a lower section with three short drawers and valanced and beaded apron joining cabriole legs, old replaced brasses, old brown varnished surface, (imperfections), ht. 67 1/2, lower case wd. 37, lower case dp. 19 1/4 in. Provenance: Morgan MacWhinnie, South Hampton, New York, October 1983. Estimate $3,000-5,000 leg repair and evidence of insect damage to right rear leg.
