Queen Anne Walnut Day Bed, possibly Rhode Island, c. 1765, the spooned crest rail above a vasiform raking splat continuing to chamfered rear legs, the scalloped "bed" frame and block-, vase-, and ring-turned stretchers joining six cabriole legs ending in pad feet, ht. 35, "bed" lg. 63 1/2 in., sold together with modern cushions and down-filled comforter. Provenance: Swan Tavern, Yorktown, Pennsylvania, 1979. Estimate $3,000-5,000 Old green paint to undersides, stretchers patched where they meet legs, some old upholstery under modern fittings, repair to some knee returns.
