[Italy, Florence, 7 September 1508]. 16mo format manuscript on parchment, 199 leaves (mostly gathered in 10s); text in black in a small gothic rotunda hand, rubricated throughout, single columns of fourteen lines, justified, unfoliated, vertical catch-words on the verso of the last leaves of signatures; illustrated with three full-page miniatures with full borders: Annunciation to the Virgin; David Praying to God; and the Raising of Lazarus, text leaves facing the miniatures with elaborately illuminated borders and initials, three additional leaves (not facing miniatures) similarly decorated, initials depicting the Nativity, Crucifixion, and Pentecost, seven additional three-line illuminated initials, all done in a painting executed with a full palate and gilt embellishments, dated on final page, bound in red velvet over wooden boards, edges gilt and gauffered, housed in a custom chemise and slipcase, ex libris J.
