Pair of Walnut Savonarola Chairs, Italy, mostly 17th century, iron back bars covered in fabric and fringe, round arms with slatted arm supports crossing and joining feet, ht. 27 3/4, seat ht. 17 1/4, wd. 29, dp. 19 in. Provenance: Property from the Harvard Art Museum, sold to benefit the acquisition fund. Estimate $700-900 Worming some of which may be artificial, several slatted arm supports replaced, one repaired. Modern velvet fabric. One with cracks to the arm supports. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
