Daniell, Thomas (1749-1840) & William (1769-1837) A Picturesque Voyage to India by Way of China. London: for Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme, 1810 Oblong folio, illustrated with fifty hand-colored aquatint plates with letterpress captions on facing pages; some offsetting, some spotting throughout; bound in half leather (rubbed and with some surface tearing to leather) and marbled paper boards, 14 x 10 in. The Daniells, an uncle-nephew team of British artists, departed for the Far East in the spring of 1785. They traveled to and depicted Madeira, the Cape of Good Hope, Java, Macao, Canton and Calcutta.
