(2) Marini was prefect of the archives at the Vatican and president of the Vatican Museum and the Vatican Library. In this work, he shares transcriptions of thousands of ancient Roman inscriptions. His work was centered on the many marble slabs carved by the Arval Brethren. This college of priests was dedicated to the worship of Dea Dia, an ancient Roman goddess of fertility and growth.
