Large Southeast Woven Cane Basket, 19th century, Cherokee, two-color form woven in rivercane with square bottom, high round shoulder, and flared rim, in a contrasting light and dark brown stained repeating chevrons, ht. 17 1/2 in. Provenance: Samuel Freeman Auctioneers, Philadelphia, November 21 and 22, 1938; M. William Bradley and Walter Peirson Collections.
