William Blake (British, 1757-1827) What! Shall we recieve [sic] Good at the hand of God..., from The Book of Job, 1825, (Binyon, 112). Identified within the plate. Etching on paper, plate size 8 3/8 x 6 5/8 in. (21.2 x 16.7 cm), framed. Condition: A number of pinpoint fox marks, gentle rippling, not examined out of frame. Provenance: The estate of Donald A. Hall Jr., New Hampshire. Estimate $700-900 Out of the frame the sheet is a wove paper and measures 15 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches. It was previously bound into a book/folio, and has small evenly-spaced nicks from binding along the left edge and gold along the other three edges. The sheet is gently light toned and has pale foxing. There are several thin spot to the sheet primarily in the lower margin (most without any evidence of surface loss) Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
