School of Rosa Bonheur (French, 1822-1899) Studies of Sheep Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 16 x 23 3/8 in. (40.5 x 58.7 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch, fine craquelure, surface grime. Estimate $600-800 Retouch located along the left side, primarily in the background, but also in the face of the sheep in the l.l. corner, around his right eye and at his chin. A few brushmarks of retouch in the body of the foreground sheep. Framed dimensions are 20 1/2 x 27 1/2 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
