Pavel Tchelitchew (Russian/American, 1898-1957) Autumn Leaves Signed and dated "P. Tchelitchew/1939" u.l. Watercolor and gouache on paper/board, sight size 21 5/8 x 13 3/8 in. (55.0 x 34.0 cm), framed. Condition: Wear and creases to edges of the sheet, tack holes to the corners, not examined out of frame. Estimate $700-900 Framed dimensions are 28 3/4 x 20 1/2 in. The work has shifted slightly in the frame so that the upper left edge and both corners on the left side are visible. Left edge deckled, tack holes to the corners, wears and creases to margins and corners. Annotation on reverse reads "462 - sketch for...in leaves..." and accession loan stamp "Museum of Modern Art LOAN/42.806/Tchelitchew."
