Continental School, 20th Century Still Life with Fruit. Signed and dated "M. G... 44" l.l. Oil on canvas, 10 1/2 x 13 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Surface grime. Estimate $20-200 Frame bears the stamp of a Swiss-French frame shop, Maison de Cadre, J. L. Peytrequin, Lausanne, on the back. The signature appears to read "M. Genoud" which could be Marin Genoud (French, 1893-1966), although Genoud seems to have painted primarily landscape,s and there are no auction records of still life paintings ascribed to him.
