Jean Patou "Normandie" Perfume, France, c. 1935, glass bottle with screw-top encased in a silver-plated pewter ship-form bottle, with paper label pasted to the front, in original chromed box with stand, ht. 3, wd. 7 in. Note: This perfume was created by Henri Almeras to commemorate the maiden voyage of the SS Normandie in 1935. The miniature cruise liner uses the perfume bottle as the central smokestack. Although rereleased in the following years, this particular form was handed out to every woman in First Class on that first transatlantic trip.
