Red-painted Pine and Maple Oval-top Tap Table, Connecticut, the top on a slightly splayed base of turned legs joined by valanced skirt and molded stretchers, ht. 24 1/4, wd. 27, dp. 19 in. Provenance: Lillian Cogan Auction, Christie's, 1992. Estimate $600-800 likely made up, with the legs being the only part of the table that exhibits true 18th century age. There is a 3x3 patch to the top, chips, gouges, and losses to the feet and stretchers, splits at the tenons. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
