Gerry, Elbridge (1744-1814) Archive of Received and Related Letters and Documents. A small archive of letters and documents including: autograph letter signed by Timothy Pickering (1745-1829), to Gerry, Philadelphia, 25 October 1785, concerning financial accounts, finding some books for Gerry (one copy of Burlamaqui's Natural and Politic Law, 2 vols. 8vo which I took, the price 30s elegantly bound & gilt), and with the following post script, "Mr. H. holds on in expectation that Congress may remove to Phila. Some others imagine, & many hope for that event. They think it necessary that Congress should come to school to Dr. F___," with the original free franked envelope; autograph letter signed by Fulwar Skipwith (1765-1839) from Paris, 30 July 1798 while he served as U.S. Consul-General in France, exchanging diplomatic news and business related to the XYZ Affair; Charles Coatsworth Pinckney to Messrs. Williamson and De Villers, Savannah, 10 January 1817, ordering flooring boards and other business, with original self-envelope; [and] a receipt made out to Eliza Gerry for postage; and communication related to the material with the Library of Congress from 1934, with photostats.
