Rolf Armstrong (American, 1890-1960) The Young Boxer. No visible signature. Pastel on academy board, 17 1/2 x 14 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Crack to right far corner of board, tack holes u.c. and u.r., not examined out of frame. N.B. The work was used as the cover illustration for the November 20, 1926 issue of Collier's Weekly magazine. A copy of the magazine accompanies the lot.
