Chinese, 19th century (circa 1840-1860). Group of three figural gouache or watercolor paintings on pith paper depicting methods of torture (originally part of a larger portfolio) comprising of a figure being flogged; a figure tied to inscribed pole getting fed a white disc like object flanked by figures holding long spears; and a figure tied to pole with figure holding fan and sword approaching. All unsigned and contained in matching frames. Framed approximately 14" x 15.75".
