Plains Beaded Hide Tobacco Bag, Lakota, western Sioux, c. 1880s, native tanned hide, roll beaded top with descending three row beaded edgework, the lower panel with geometric devices topped with a coup feather, teepee and cross devices, bead colors include faceted metallic, dark blue, white heart red, apple green, and cobalt blue on a white ground, the lowest panel of aniline-dyed quillwork with fringe, (stiffness to leather), lg. without fringe 21 in.
