Civil War Shaving Mirror Identified to Private George F. Maynard, Company H, 12th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, c. 1861-64, wooden frame marked on the upper back "Maynard. GF./H 12th," marked in pencil on the inside of the front cover "Weymouth/Mass/Geo F. Maynard/Co. H. 12th Mass," with a looking glass inside, and his service records, overall ht. 6, wd. 3 1/4 in. Provenance: Purchased from Norm Flayderman; the collection of Ron Tunison. Note: Maynard was from Weymouth, Massachusetts, a 21-year-old shoemaker when he enlisted on June 26, 1861, he mustered out of service on July 8, 1864. Estimate $200-400 Has some wear from use but in overall good condition. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
