Painted Cheese Box Canteen, c. early 19th century, blue-painted body with "J.R" maker's stamp, "SP" carved on the drum, an old collection label marked "134/War of 1812," leather strap tabs, and a woven cloth strap, dia. 7 1/4, dp. 2 5/8 in.
