Camp-made Carved Bone and Wood Frame and Image Identified to Charles Bennet, Company L, 5th New York Heavy Artillery, c. 1862, carved bone obverse with a cutout and image of Bennet, with a star carved above his head, and foliate designs, marked below the image "C. BENNET/CO L/5TH N.Y./1862," with a wooden back, ht. 2 5/8, wd. 1 1/2 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: Bennet enlisted July 24, 1862, and was mustered out of service on June 26, 1865, at Harpers Ferry. Estimate $300-500 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
